Keep It Simple - Flaunt Your Red

Thank you Nancy at Southern Lady for Flaunt Your Red. I do love red and find I am loving the more bright intense REDS in addition to burgundy. This is just a simple supper featuring chicken salad with RED grapes, a crisp romaine salad with RED onion and bright RED strawberries, and RED apples dipped in lemon yogurt. It is been RED hot here in Missouri and we were ready for a cool and refreshing dinner tonight.

My table cloth has been used for years and I like the neutral background to emphasize the RED. I am sure many of you have these RED place mats from Target. I find that round works best on my oval breakfast table. The white plates are Gibson and I have used them for many, many family meals. A few weeks ago I found these wonderful salad plates and bowls at Deal's for $1.00 each. My RED napkins were a Kohl's clearance find. The flatware is Oxford Hall and belonged to my Great Aunt as did the crystal. Remember the white cups? They were given to us at the Wenzville Flea Market when I purchased other white serving pieces from one of the dealers.

Until today, the fresh apples were beautiful green Granny Smith but it appears that while I was gone, Poppa fed them to our grandson. He was a little under the weather today and spent the day with us. I don't mind at all and in fact, I like the look of the RED ones.

Last week, I was glued to the computer looking at the Cloche Party. I purchased this beauty at All About Home, a local shop. My arrangement isn't up to all those I viewed but I certainly did gather some wonderful ideas. I used silk flowers and a sweet little RED bird for my first arrangement.

Thank you for allowing me to Flaunt Your Red. Be sure to visit Southern Lady for more.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Charla

I'm back. And I'm cracking up because that was the reason I bought red luggage too! I thought I was being different, that mine would stand out. HA! NOT SO!! I almost died when all the luggage started pouring on to the conveyor and I saw that 1/2 the luggage on it was red. Too funny.

Oh, I was just at Ross this morning looking at apothecary jars, as I used some at last weeks cloche party. Didn't see any cloches. But they had really good prices. Sorry, got off subject somewhat. You set a pretty table and red is gorgeous on that table cloth!

Your table is so pretty Charla! I love your cloche. I was at the shop last week and saw a cloche, I'd like to have.

Your meal sounds delicious.

I was out shopping in Osage Beach for a couple hours this morning. Very hot! There were quite a few people out and about.

Thank you for commenting on another lame attempt at one of those special days. I seem to decided at the last possible moment...and what some of these ladies do takes a bit of planning...or a bit of genius or both...or a LOT of both?
I happen to think your cloche is wonderful. Red is my most favorite color and has been for years..but I do love those soft rose reds that go with pinks. I use it all.
So..as for me..you get an A+ and if this is your starting point...move over HIGH rollers! Here she comes!!
Hugs and smiles~
