IT'S THREE FOR ME - Today's Thrifty Treasures

Let's join Rhoda at Southern Hospitality and her Today's Thrifty Treasures for some bargains found across blogland.

Friday, I took my sweet six year-old granddaughter to the St. Louis Art Museum. On the way, we stopped to do a little "school shopping" and to look at what she calls, "the pretty things" at Dillards. She is connected to me in so many ways and loves to look at china, crystal, silver, and linens.

We touched and looked at all the lovely things and then I spied them - three cloches sitting all alone on the top shelf. There was no price tag or even a box on the display that appeared to hold others. I sought out the clerk, on Friday morning they are somewhat difficult to find, and she stated that she did not know the exact price but thought they were somewhere around $58.00 for the set. I shrugged my shoulders and gave her my "so now what" look. She quickly went to the back to look for a matching box. In a couple of minutes she returned, no box. Since many of the items were on sale for 40 % off she said that she could probably give them to me for that price. I shrugged again and then she looked at me and gave me a smile and said, "Well, since there is no box and there is a tiny chip, super tiny, in one, she would let me have them for $18.00!
I pulled out my credit card so fast it would make your head spin! After much wrapping and packaging, she handed me the bags an off we went.

As soon as I reached home I could not resist trying them out.

The cloches are 10, 14 and 18 inches in height. I played around with the smallest one using wooden grapes, an antique bobbin, and an old family picture.

Next I changed the picture to a tin type, another picture from an old family album. I also added a cream colored candle on a wooden base.

I am getting all excited about the Cloche Party hosted by Marty at A Stroll Thru Life. If it is as much fun as the one in June, you will love it!
I have THREE!
Lucky me!
Now I had better get busy. There are a lot of talented ladies out there.
I look forward to seeing you, too.
Thanks for visitng me today.
Charla

Wow! Looks like you got a great deal! The cloches are so much fun to play with. I think I am the only one in blogland that DOESN'T have one! I do have three boys though...if that explains the reason for lack of cloches. So good to 'meet' you; found you through the giveaway at Whimsy by Victoria. Thanks for stopping by!
